Movies were a major staple in the great depression. No matter how hard times got, anyone in range of one of these classic films would instantly be taken away from their worries and catapulted into a world where anything is possible. From classic romances like "Swing Time," or mysteries like "Sherlock Holmes" or "Dr. Jekyll and Mr. Hyde," movies captivated thousands. Today's movies, though very impressive in technological feats, will never rival the classics for there is no comparison. These were the best years of Hollywood film.
