Happy Birthday to Jackie Gleason (February 26th, 1916), the star of The Honeymooners.
He died in 1987, but his legacy lies on.
When tv was pretty much just invented, The Honeymooners was filmed live. Everything was, including commercials! Anybody who’s ever performed a play on stage knows how difficult it can be, but performing a new script on a regular basis without fault (well, that we can tell)? It’s very impressive.
